Daisy’s practical planner

Separate a full ban from a partial summer restriction.

Pembrokeshire has many dog-friendly beaches, but popular award beaches may restrict either the whole beach or a signed section from 1 May to 30 September. Rules can be updated, so use this guide to shortlist and always read the entrance board when you arrive.

For activities that cannot take dogs, ask Daisy for current local sitter or walker suggestions rather than leaving a dog alone.

Make the day easier for everyone.

Seasonal rules reflect Pembrokeshire County Council guidance: restrictions generally run from 1 May to 30 September. Entrance signage remains the final authority.

01

Use a lead near livestock

Even reliable dogs can worry animals. Close control is also vital near cliffs and nesting birds.

02

Read the sign

Partial bans are spatial: the permitted end of a beach may change at a signed boundary.

03

Carry water

Remote coves have no tap, shade or bins. Pack water and take waste home.

04

Plan dog-free activities

Boat landings and some providers cannot accept dogs. Arrange care before the holiday.

Put the activity on the map

Two places worth building into the day.
