A huge sweep of sand earned by ninety feet of steps.
Traeth Llyfn sits between Abereiddi and Porthgain beneath imposing cliffs. It is beautiful, remote-feeling and completely wrong for anyone who needs easy access or a casual swim.

The buying decision
Is this the right beach for your group today?
This is the beach for guests who want the approach to be part of the experience. Park around Abereiddi or Porthgain, walk the exposed Coast Path and descend the metal staircase only after checking the tide. There are no facilities waiting below and no easy exit if somebody changes their mind.
01
The reveal
The beach appears below the cliffs as the path reaches the staircase—one of the coast’s great visual arrivals.
02
A proper walking day
Link it into the official Porthgain–Abereiddi route rather than treating it as a drive-to beach.
03
Know when to turn back
High tide, undertow, wet steps or uncomfortable guests are all good reasons not to descend.
