The Blue Lagoon is one of north Pembrokeshire’s most distinctive landscapes: dark slate, deep green-blue water and a coast-path route that can continue all the way to lunch in Porthgain.

Why make the trip?
Come for the landscape. Enter the water only with proper judgement.
The lagoon is a former slate quarry breached by the sea. It has hosted the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, but that spectacle is not an invitation to copy the jumps. For guests, the best experience is a guided coasteering session or the clifftop walk from Abereiddy towards Porthgain.
01
The famous view
Walk above the quarry for the full shape of the lagoon, slate ruins and open coast.
02
A guided adventure
Book a recognised local coasteering provider; tides, swell and safe exits determine the venue.
03
Walk to lunch
Continue east on the Coast Path to Porthgain, then arrange a bus, taxi or second car.
The Red Bull connection
World-class diving happened here. Your day should be safety-led.
Watch the official Red Bull highlights for the scale of the place, then leave the serious jumping to professionals. Local guides choose appropriate routes and lower challenges for the conditions and your group.
