A converted late-19th-century cow shed where old stone and timber meet generous kitchens, fireside rooms and the practical spaces a large group really needs.
16is the sweet spot22with every flexible space used
The honest version
It sleeps 22. But 16 is where the house feels effortless.
16EffortlessProper beds and room to spread out
22Flexible maximumFamily rooms, cubbies and annexe sofa bed in use
For roughly 16 guests, the arrangement feels generous: proper beds, room to spread out and several places to gather or escape.
To reach the full capacity of 22, the group also uses larger family bedrooms containing both a king and a single, plus sofa-bed cubbies beneath upstairs rooms and the sofa bed in the annexe. That works brilliantly for families and close groups—but it is important that you can see the difference before booking.
Long lunches. Birthday suppers. One table for the stories.
The library dining room is made for the part of the holiday everyone remembers: when the walk is finished, the bottles are open and nobody needs to drive home.

The cinema room
The room that saves a wet afternoon.
A huge screen, deep sofas, films, games and a massive log burner. It is large enough to bring everyone together without feeling like a formal sitting room.

Space to spread out
Cook together—or let different parts of the group do their own thing.
Three kitchens give a large stay unusual flexibility: the main working kitchen, a second kitchen and the annexe kitchen.
Main barn
The main kitchen
A proper cooking space for group breakfasts, family favourites and the organised chaos of a big evening meal.
Extra flexibility
The second kitchen
Useful for early risers, children’s suppers, extra fridge space or simply keeping tea and toast away from the main cooking.
See how it all connects
The main barn floor plan—and the newer annexe alongside it.
The original sales plan is the clearest guide to the shape of the main house. Some room names have changed since then, so we have translated the important ones below and shown the separately converted annexe alongside it.
Included with the booking, but not shown on the original main-barn plan. This companion drawing uses the same visual language and shows the furniture, kitchen, stairs and shower room.
Not every sleeping space is the same—and we think you should know that.
Current working layout: Rooms 1 and 2 each have a king and single; Room 3 has twin singles; Room 4 a double; Room 5 has twin singles plus its linked sofa-bed snug; and Room 6 a double plus its linked sofa-bed snug. The annexe has a king and sofa bed. Daisy will confirm the final arrangement with you.
Private rooms
Proper bedrooms
Double bedrooms beneath the original roofline give couples and adults their own retreat from the busier communal spaces.
Best for couples and adults who value privacy
Shared family rooms
King plus single
Some of the larger bedrooms pair a king with a single bed, making them especially useful for parents and children.
Comfortable when sharing is part of the plan
Flexible capacity
Sofa-bed cubbies
Ground-floor cubbies beneath upstairs bedrooms add sleeping capacity for family groups comfortable using connected spaces.
The three-person annexe is included with every full booking.
Just outside the main property on the driveway, the annexe gives grandparents, another couple or part of the group a little more independence without being away from everyone else.

The staircase sits towards the back of the annexe. Daisy can talk through suitability for anyone with limited mobility.
Room to disappear for a while
Togetherness works better when nobody has to be together all day.
The upstairs adults’ snug provides a quieter fireside room away from the cinema, while the children’s areas give younger guests somewhere to make their own.
